Polycystic ovary syndrome, or PCOS, affects more than 7 million women each year. That’s more than the number of women with breast cancer, multiple sclerosis, lupus and rheumatoid arthritis combined. The PCOS Awareness Association wants women to know this, and more, during PCOS Awareness Month in September.
Specifically, the PCOSAA wants to:
PREPARE: Provide women with information and resources.
COMMUNICATE: Increase general public understanding about PCOS.
OVERCOME: Help women with PCOS to overcome the syndrome and decrease health problems.
SUPPORT: Be an organization that offers support and knowledge.
